NHP says alcohol may have been a factor
Created on July 9, 2010Nevada Highway Patrol says a 65-year-old driver died after his Ford F-150 pickup overturned Wednesday afternoon on the Las Vegas Beltway near Durango Drive.
NHP says the man was driving west on the beltway when he swerved to the right. The right rear of the pickup clipped the left front of a Chevrolet Blazer. The coroner's office identified the man as Peter Iakona of Las Vegas. Our condolences go out to his family.
NHP says alcohol might have been a factor, but the crash is still under investigation. Although the reason for this crash is still undetermined, I know DUI crashes can be devastating and often times more severe than other car crashes, simply because of the impaired condition of the other driver.
