Police say they found man who hit and injured 3 pedestrians and then left the scene
Created on July 29, 2010Earlier this week, I posted a blog about how police were looking for a man who drove his pickup truck onto a sidewalk on the Las Vegas Strip, hit and injured three pedestrians, and then left the scene. Well, there is an article is today’s Las Vegas Sun explaining that police arrested a man in connection with that hit-and-run.
Metro Police says they arrested Chris Scott Kiser and he has been charged with several misdemeanors. The charges include unsafe lane change, failure to render aid in an accident, failure to surrender driver's license to a police officer, and failure to report a traffic accident.
Police say 2 days later a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper stopped Kiser's pickup truck at 1:37 a.m. near the Maryland Parkway and Windmill Lane intersection. During that traffic stop, NHP says Kiser was charged with drunken driving, failure to maintain a lane, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with an out-of-state suspended license.
The article says the misdemeanors Kiser faces for the pedestrian accident could be upgraded to felonies if the pedestrians' injuries are determined to be more severe. Police say 3 pedestrians were taken to UMC Trauma after the accident, but they also said they do not know the current conditions of the pedestrians.
