As Managing Partner for the firm, Patti has been instrumental in assisting thousands of people with their accident and injury claims. For over 25 years, she has worked primarily in Mass Tort and Personal Injury cases, with an emphasis in brain injuries, seriously injured plaintiffs and pharmaceutical litigation. In addition, Patti was one of the lead attorneys in the litigation against the Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada. In 2011, Patti was trial co-counsel in Washington v. Teva which resulted in a $104 million verdict (the 7th largest verdict in the United States). She has been selected as one of Nevada’s Top 100 Trial Attorneys from 2007 to present by the American Trial Lawyers Association. Patti was a speaker at the 2012 and 2014 Nevada Justice Association annual convention and is a court appointed arbitrator for Clark County.

Patti was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming and attended the University of Wyoming where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Phi Beta Kappa. She continued her education at the University of Wyoming, College of Law and received her Juris Doctorate in 1995. While in law school, Patti was a published comment author and a member of Law Review.

About PATTI

As Managing Partner of Edward M. Bernstein & Associates, Patti supervises all of the legal staff and cases for the firm.  For over 25 years, Patti has been instrumental in assisting thousands of people with their accident and injury claims. Primarily, she handles Mass Tort and Personal Injury cases, with an emphasis in brain injuries, seriously injured plaintiffs and pharmaceutical litigation.

Patti was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming and attended the University of Wyoming where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Phi Beta Kappa. She continued her education at the University of Wyoming, College of Law and received her Juris Doctorate in 1995. While in law school, Patti was a published comment author and a member of Law Review.  Patti joined the firm in 1995 and became a branch supervisor in 1999 and the Managing Attorney in 2001.  During her time with the firm, she has handled Workers’ Compensation, Social Security Disability and Personal Injury cases. 

Patti serves as a court-appointed arbitrator for Clark County, Nevada where she rules on cases involving amounts in controversy up to $50,000.00.  She is also a volunteer pro-bono attorney for the Children’s Attorney Project where she represents abused and neglected children in Clark County.  Patti has been a speaker at Continued Legal Education courses for other attorneys for the Nevada Justice Association and the Nevada State Bar.

Patti is a sustaining member of the Nevada Justice Association and a member of the Southern Nevada Association of Women Attorneys.

Patti enjoys traveling, watching the Vegas Golden Knights and is an avid volleyball mom to her daughter, Savannah.

Legal Achievements

During her time with the firm, Patti has settled thousands of cases.  In addition, Patti was one of the lead attorneys in the litigation against the Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada, which involved the hepatitis outbreak in Clark County, Nevada, due to the use of contaminated vials of Propofol.

In 2011, Patti was trial co-counsel in Washington v. Teva which resulted in a $104 million verdict (the 7th largest verdict in the United States).

She has been selected as one of Nevada’s Top 100 Trial Attorneys from 2007 to present by the American Trial Lawyers Association. She has also been selected as one of America’s Top 100 High Stakes Litigators and is a lifetime recipient of the America’s Top 100 Attorneys award.
She has also been selected as a Mountain Status Super Lawyer from 2019 to 2021.

Community Service

Besides her legal volunteer work, Patti has always been actively involved in charitable activities.  Patti has taught Awanas and Sunday School at her church.  She volunteers at a high-risk elementary school, participating in Reading Week and book drives. 

Patti has also been a volunteer at Three Square and the Ronald McDonald House and has done charity fundraising for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation and Walk for Water. 

Patti has been instrumental in incorporating and overseeing a firm charity committee, where the staff is involved in activities ranging from bake sales to raise money for cancer charities, conducting food drives to make Thanksgiving baskets for Lunt Elementary and gathering donations for our military soldiers and families.
