Las Vegas Metropolitan Police were investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian in the northeast valley on Tuesday evening.

The incident happened around 9:45 p.m. near North Nellis Boulevard and Judson Avenue, said police. According to LVMPD, a 52-year-old man was in the intersection outside of a marked crosswalk collecting scrap metal. A 2005 Hyundai traveling southbound on Nellis struck the man.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The Hyundai driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police, LVMPD said. Speed and impairment were not considered factors in the crash.
