The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police (LVMPD) have been investigating a two-car crash that involved the death of an elderly person.

Just before 3:00 p.m. on October 18th, police answered to a two-car crash near west Flamingo Road and south Fort Apache Road.

According the report, a 2019 Honda Accord was driving south through a private drive on the north side of west Flamingo Road and on the east side of south Fort Apache Road. A 2010 BMW 3 Series was headed west on west Flamingo Road and coming up on south Fort Apache Road.

The Honda was entering west Flamingo Road and traveled into the path of the approaching BMW. The two cars then collided.

The driver of the Honda, who was 84 did not sustain injuries.

Unfortunately, the passenger of the Honda, also 84, died later at University Medical Center’s Trauma Unit. The driver of the BMW, 31, was treated at UMC and released later that day.

The Honda passenger was the 115th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metro Police Department’s jurisdiction for 2021.

The crash is still under investigation by the LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section.
