A motorist ran a red light in the central valley on the morning of March 13th that led to a two-car collision that left a pedestrian with life-threatening injuries.

The crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. on Las Vegas Boulevard and Washington Avenue.

According to police, a Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling south when the driver failed to stop at a red light and collided with a Dodge Journey that was traveling east.

After the collision, the Chevrolet then struck the pedestrian who was standing on the sidewalk.

The pedestrian, a 31-year-old Las Vegas man was transported to University Medical Center in critical condition. The driver of the Dodge was also treated for minor injuries.

Impairment was not suspected as a factor in the crash, however the wreck remains under investigation.
