A woman crossing the street near Boulder Highway was hit by a vehicle and killed just after midnight on Friday.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said the incident took place near Boulder Highway and Tropicana in the east Las Vegas valley.
A 2004 Infinity G35 was traveling southbound on Boulder Highway and struck the 36-year-old woman, who was crossing the street eastbound in a marked crosswalk.
According to the police, the driver called 911 in an attempt to assist the woman, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The surrounding streets were closed so that the authorities could investigate the accident. The LVMPD do not believe that impairment was the cause. This incident marks the 40th traffic-related fatality in LVMPD’s jurisdiction in 2020.
