Southern Nevada and Las Vegas motorists experienced difficulty driving on the morning of March 12th, as a winter storm led to slippery road conditions and multiple car accidents.

A busy morning for emergency personnel, as crashes were reported on:

  • Interstate 15 ramp to the 215 Beltway in the south valley
  • Spring Mountain Avenue at Valley View Boulevard
  • Christy Lane at Kell Lane
  • Fremont Street and Sahara Avenue
  • Paradise at Wayne Newton Boulevard at the airport
  • US95 at Eastern Avenue

Due to wet road conditions, Nevada Highway Patrol urged drivers to drive with extreme caution, slow down, and buckle up for everyone’s safety.

Also, due to severe weather and snowfall, chains or snow tires were made mandatory in the Mt. Charleston area. The restriction was put in place on Kyle Canyon Road (Highway 157), Lee Canyon Road (Highway 156) and Deer Creek Road (Highway 158).
