22-Year-Old Found After Fleeing Crash With Policeman on Motorcycle

police officer on police bike, motorcycle force   A Las Vegas Metropolitan police officer was injured in a crash on the afternoon of December 21st . The driver that hit the officer fled the scene of the crash because her vehicle was not registered, she did not have her license, or car insurance, according to the arrest report. 22-year-old Alicia Jones was booked at the Clark County Detention Center on charges including, one felony count of failure to stop at the scene of an accident and several traffic misdemeanors. Jones was driving a 2005 Dodge Neon around 1:30 p.m. when she attempted to turn left onto Redwood Road from Charleston Boulevard. The Dodge failed to yield the right of way to officer Hinostrosa on his motorcycle. The front of Jones’ car collided with the left side of Hinostrosa’s police motorcycle. This collision ejected him off of his bike where he landed on his right side. Hinostrosa suffered several broken bones and was treated at a nearby hospital. Jones fled the scene and headed south on Redwood Road, according to the arrest report. Her vehicle was later found near by in a parking lot on Redwood Road and Jones. Jones reported to the police that she did not see Hinostrosa while making the turn, and admitted that she panicked and left the scene without stopping. Jones also admitted to police that she did not have a driver’s license or insurance, and the Dodge she was driving was not registered.  Jones is due to appear at the Las Vegas Justice Court on December 29th for a status check.   “Car accidents are on the rise in the Las Vegas area.
