Governor of Nevada Involved in Two-Car Collision
On October 17th , Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak caused a two-car crash near the Las Vegas Strip, according to police.
Sisolak, 67, was driving alone without a security detail and failed to yield to oncoming traffic.
The driver of the other vehicle, 30-year-old woman, was speeding in the incident. However, both drivers were ticketed for their driving infractions, and the governor was found at-fault.
According to police, Sisolak was driving a Lexus SUV and turned left on a flashing yellow arrow into the path of the woman’s Nissan Sentra who had a green light. The crash was recorded by a business near the scene. Sisolak’s vehicle had spun around and crashed into a landscape while the Nissan hit a traffic signal pole.
Both drivers suffered minor injuries and were treated at the local hospital.
The unidentified woman was issued a sobriety test but the governor did not receive one because no signs of impairment were observed, police said.
