A high-speed crash on December 30th has resulted in the unfortunate death of a 52-year-old man, according to Metro Police. The crash occurred at S. Fort Apache Rd and Furnace Gulch Ave, as a 2016 Dodge Challenger traveling at a high rate of speed collided with a Hyundai Accent that was attempting to make a left-hand turn. Both cars then violently slid off of the road. The driver of the Dodge Challenger, 19-year-old Zaon Collins, was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. He also showed signs of impairment and was booked at the Clark County Detention Center. The victim, 52-year-old Eric Echevarria, was later pronounced dead at Sunrise Hospital.
