Man Killed in DUI Collision Near Downtown Las Vegas One man has died and another person injured following a fatal crash in the early morning of Friday, December 10th. Police received a report around 1:50 a.m. that a 2021 Jeep Wrangler was traveling eastbound on Gass Avenue when the driver ran a red light which caused the vehicle to collide with a 2021 Camry. Police reported that medical personnel transported the driver of the Toyota, a 31-year-old Las Vegas man, and his passenger, a 50-year-old Las Vegas man, to University Medical Center. The passenger, Julio Maymi-Diaz, passed away later that morning. The driver of the Jeep, 24-year-old Daysia Brown, showed signs of impairment following the crash. She was arrested and booked at the Clark County Detention Center on a count of DUI, police said. The crash remains under investigation.   “Car accidents are on the rise in the Las Vegas area.
