One Dead in Two-Vehicle Collision on July 4th

One person has died after a two-vehicle collision in North Las Vegas on July 4th. After crashing into a vehicle and killing one of the occupants, an 18-year-old is now facing two charges, one of which is a felony for reckless driving. The incident occurred near the intersection of Deer Springs and Gliding Eagle. North Las Vegas Police responded to reports of the crash around 2:45 pm. According to a preliminary investigation by North Las Vegas Police, the two vehicles collided at the intersection. One of which was a sedan with two female occupants in their 20s traveling northbound, while the other vehicle was driven by an 18-year-old male. Reports say the vehicle driven by the single male driver was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed at the time of the crash. After first responders arrived at the scene, all occupants of both vehicles were transported to University Medical Center, where the female passenger of the northbound vehicle was pronounced dead. It’s still unknown whether or not impairment was a factor, however, police have said that the 18-year-old male has been booked and charged with reckless driving.     “Car accidents are on the rise in the Las Vegas area.
