Man Struck By Two Vehicles on Maryland Parkway in Las Vegas Las Vegas police were investigating a fatal car accident on Friday, May 22 south of the intersection of Twain Avenue and Maryland Parkway. The accident took place near the Boulevard Mall around 9:22 p.m. According to a media release, the police said that a 2003 Ford Escape driving south on Maryland Avenue hit a 67-year-old man crossing Maryland from east to west outside of the marked crosswalk. The front of the Ford hit the man, knocking him to the ground. The driver was a 19-year-old from California who lost control of the vehicle, hitting the curb. A second unknown vehicle drove over the man, dragging him into the road, police said. The vehicle fled the scene and has yet to be found. The driver of the Ford was caught by officers after making an attempt to flee the scene. He failed impairment tests and has been identified as Brandon Lopes. Police booked him on several charges.
