Edward M. Bernstein is a proud sponsor of the Rock & Roll Marathon which takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada each year. His commercials could be seen in the past throughout the brief intermissions of the recordings as proof of his earnest support.
The marathon benefits the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America and one of their goals is to raise awareness of Crohn’s Disease, which is an autoimmune disease that commonly affects the intestines. Ed’s own daughter, Dana has been a sufferer of Crohn’s Disease for many years now, although she is only in her 20s. The suffering of his young daughter is what has sparked his personal awareness campaign.
There is no cure for Crohn’s Disease. In fact, the Bernsteins are continuing their battle even after countless hospital visits and surgeries. It has been difficult for them to deal with, but knowing that hundreds of people are showing their support by running in the annual Rock & Roll Marathon gives the Bernsteins and other families with loved ones dealing with these diseases that there could possibly be hope for a cure in the future.
