Four Killed in Two-Plane Crash at North Las Vegas Airport
Four people were killed Sunday afternoon at North Las Vegas Airport when two planes collided mid-air.
Occurring just after noon, the collision happened mid-air while both aircrafts were attempting to land, causing one of the planes to crash upside-down on a runway while the other plane went up in flames near an airport fence.
Both aircrafts were single-engine planes, according to the Federal Aviation Commission. One was a Cessna 172 while the other was a Piper PA 46-350P.
There were four people aboard both planes, all of whom were killed as a result of the crash. As of yesterday, the Clark County Coroner’s office has released the identity of two of the four crash victims.
While it has been categorized as an accident, the National Transportation Safety Board and the FAA are still investigating the incident.
