Las Vegas Man Left in Critical Condition After Summerlin Parkway Crash A man who was hit by a garbage truck is in critical condition. The accident happened Tuesday afternoon on Summerlin Parkway.  A Republic Services truck struck the man near the Rampart Boulevard exit around 2:30 p.m., said Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Travis Smaka. The driver of the truck remained at the scene, and the injured man was taken to University Medical Center. Las Vegas police and troopers investigated the scene. Impairment did not seem to be the cause of the accident.  All eastbound lanes were closed on Summerlin Parkway, and NHP advised drivers to avoid the route to avoid delays.
