Las Vegas Woman Arrested After Driving Reckless
Las Vegas woman, Cassandra Leal, was arrested on Sunday after crashing into another car, critically injuring two people.
Leal was reportedly speeding and weaving in and out of traffic before she crashed into the other car.
Leal now faces charges of DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm and reckless driving resulting in substantial bodily harm. These are very serious offenses, and if convicted, Leal could face significant jail time.
The driver of the other car, Gerson Climaco-Martinez, 25, and a passenger, Blanca Aragon, 39, were also transported to Sunrise Hospital.
Bystanders performed CPR on a person who was trapped in one of the cars and not breathing, the report said. The report did not specify who received CPR.
When officers arrived, Leal was lying on the sidewalk, police said. She had a “heavy odor of alcohol coming from her person” and refused to answer any questions or participate in any field sobriety tests.
Leal was subsequently arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
