All week: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church will hold a 3-Day Lenten Mission Monday, March 6 – Wednesday, March 8 at 9am in the Parish Hall and repeated nightly at 7 pm in the Church. Guest speaker, Fr. Michael Renninger from the Diocese of Richmond, VA will cover the topic: “What Does Love Look Like?”
March 7: At 8:30 am the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America is hosting the 15th anniversary of the Educating America Tour at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Convention Center. Attendees will learn from renowned Alzheimer’s and caregiving experts, including Jeffrey Cummings, M.D., from the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, who will provide an overview on research. Other topics include safeguarding your space and long-term care. In addition, Alissa Taag, from the National Association of Activity Professionals, will give a presentation on arts and recreational therapies.
Later that evening, the LVBNM Square Biz Expo, featuring business exhibits, a special guest speaker, live entertainment and the LVBNM Chefs Corner, will be at the Suncoast Hotel & Casino from 6 to 9pm.
March 8: Martin Kaye will perform his show “Thank You, Vegas” at The Space LV, as a free sendoff show for the town he has performed in as a member of the show “Million Dollar Quartet”. The free show is at 8 pm, call (702) 903-1070 to RSVP.
March 9: The 9th annual Convene for Green will be at the Rio All-Suites Hotel from 1-7 pm. The event is the premier regional sustainability summit with the purpose of bringing community and business leaders and organizations together to develop goals and ideas for economic, social and environmental success throughout Southern Nevada and identify key challenges for the coming year.
Also, from 4:30-8 pm, there will be a community blood drive at Duane D. Keller Middle School.
March 10: All day long the City of Henderson will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with a parade and festival! Admission to the carnival, festival and live entertainment is complimentary. March 10 and 11: The Queen Bee Market is coming to Las Vegas with over 70 vendors on Friday, March 10 from 4pm to 9pm and Saturday, March 11 from 9am to 4pm. The San Diego based market can best be described as “real life Etsy”! Entry is a $5 fee and the event will take place at 6590 Bermuda Road.
March 11: Illuminating the Arts – Fine Arts Gala is a student showcase benefiting Faith Lutheran’s Conservatory of the Fine Arts. Students from Faith’s five fine arts disciplines; Dance, Theatrical Arts, Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, and the Visual Arts will come to together for a spectacular one night only performance to ignite passion for the arts and raise money for the school’s conservatory program. The showcase will run from 6-9 pm.
