Another Wrong Way Accident on I-15 Injures 2 Two people were injured after a head-on collision between a pickup truck and a semi-truck on I-15 near Las Vegas early Friday morning. According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at around 2:46am after receiving reports of a Ford F-150 pickup truck traveling in the wrong direction down the southbound lanes of I-15 at St. Rose Parkway. The truck then collided with the semi-truck at mile marker 15, just north of Jean. The impact of the collision caused the semi-truck to catch fire, and both drivers were taken to UMC Trauma for treatment. The driver of the pickup truck was transported via helicopter. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening and there weren't any other passengers in either vehicle. State Police believe the pickup truck driver was impaired. The northbound lanes of I-15 were closed for several hours while troopers investigated and cleared the scene. However, the highway has since reopened. Wrong way accidents are unfortunately all too common on Nevada's highways, and drivers are urged to be especially vigilant when traveling during the early morning or late night hours.
