February 13: Humana is hosting a clothing and food drive for homeless and at-risk military veterans at 8am (1000 N. Green Valley Pkwy., Suite 720 & 8885 W. Charleston Blvd., Suite 140). At 5:30 pm, Ethel M Chocolates is conducting their annual “Lights of Love” event in honor of Valentine’s Day. If you’re trying to avoid all the love in the air this week, Hop Nuts has an open mic night each Monday at 7:15 that is awesome enough to take your mind off it.
Valentine’s day: Strawberri Taylor is presenting “Verbal Intercourse” (a sensual poetry production) at 5:30pm on the Town Square Baobab Stage.
February 15: At 9am, you can tour the new Boomtown 1905 exhibit at Springs Preserve. Later that afternoon, The Clark County Law Library is holding a free estate planning seminar at 1 pm and a free criminal record sealing and civil rights restoration class at 3pm.
February 16: Have questions only a doctor can answer? It’s a good thing the Springs Preserve is having a “walk with a doc” nature walk at 9:30 am.
February 17: At 7pm The Afters with Jason Gray and Jonny Diaz will be at the Valley Bible Fellowship of Las Vegas Church. At 8pm, The Beauty Queen of Lennane (an Irish comedic play) will be performed at Freemont Village.
February 18: Springs Preserve is throwing a Black History Month Festival with music, food, and fun for the whole family, beginning at 10am!
February 19: Come see Romeo & Juliet at 2pm at the Windmill Library Performing Arts Center. Or, if you’re interested in wildlife, Clark County Wetlands Park is putting on a free nature walk to see some birds of prey.
