One Critically Injured in Suspected DUI Crash Las Vegas police are investigating a crash on the early morning of May 23rd that left one person in critical condition. According to police, around 3:30 a.m. a Nissan Maxima was traveling north on Rainbow Boulevard at an excessive rate of speed when the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with a light pole. The vehicle then continued off of the road and struck a street sign. The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and the passenger suffered critical injuries in the crash.  Investigators suspect impairment to be a factor in the crash as the driver, Deonte Lucas, was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on multiple charges. The charges include DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm, reckless driving, driving with a suspended driver’s license and drinking alcohol while driving or in physical control of a motor vehicle, jail records show. Lucas is expected to appear in court on May 24th.   “Car accidents are on the rise in the Las Vegas area. At Edward M Bernstein and Associates, we take these accidents seriously.
