Driver Arrested After Strange Spree of Hit-and-Runs While Driving the Wrong Way on Las Vegas Freeway Reports of a wrong-way driver who slammed into several automobiles in Las Vegas are being investigated by police.   The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department says that the incident began near the intersection of Fort Apache Road and Lake North Drive, near Sahara Avenue, at around 1:10 p.m.   According to authorities, callers reported a bronze four-door sedan nearly striking pedestrians, and other callers stated that the same vehicle was involved in several collisions.   The vehicle was stopped by police officers near eastbound 215 just south of Sahara Avenue and the driver was arrested.   Authorities stated the incident involved "multiple victims, in multiple vehicles, in various locations" and traffic was impacted as the investigation continued throughout the day.    At approximately 4 p.m., police reported that the driver was in custody, 215 had reopened, and there were no injuries as a result of this event.   “Car accidents are on the rise in the Las Vegas area.
