Driver Turns Himself In After Striking & Killing Bicyclist Before Fleeing Scene

A man has turned himself in to Las Vegas police after striking and killing a bicyclist on Saturday morning before fleeing the scene. The motorist reportedly admitted to using both alcohol and cocaine before being in a crash in which the airbags were deployed. He also claimed that he did not remember leaving the bar where he had been drinking and was unaware that he had hit anyone. According to the arrest report, the man does claim to remember crashing his pickup truck, then panicking before leaving the scene of the crash on foot. He also claims that after fleeing, he fell asleep in a ditch before turning himself in to police after waking up later that afternoon. The 25-year-old now faces charges of reckless driving, failing to stop at the scene of a crash and driving without a license. Police have not disclosed the identity of the male bicyclist at this time.     “Car accidents are on the rise in the Las Vegas area.
