High-Speed Crash Leads to Death of Motorcyclist in Northern Nevada Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) provided new details on a crash that claimed the life of a Fernley man on March 28th. According to officials with the NHP, the motorcyclist was traveling northbound at a very high rate of speed on Geiger Ground in Virginia City. The motorcyclist then approached a sharp left-hand curve where he entered a locked wheel skid and was ejected from the motorcycle.  Police identified the motorcyclist as 25-year-old Anthony Pizzaro, of Fernley, Nevada. Pizzaro was taken to the hospital via CareFlight, however he ultimately passed away from his severe injuries. The crash is still under investigation by the NHP Northern Command West Multi-Disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team (MIRT). Motorcycle accidents are on the rise in the Las Vegas area.
