Southwest Crash Leads To Woman’s Death Week Later
A 21-year-old woman involved in a crash on Feb. 20 around 2 p.m., near the crossroads Jones Boulevard and Windmill Lane, died more than a week later.
A 2000 Ford Mustang and a 2012 Ford F150 were stopped at the red light on Jones, and a 2016 Nissan Sentra was proceeding east through the green light on Windmill. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee drove into the intersection of Jones and Windmill against a red light.
The Jeep hit the side of the Nissan, causing it to go into the northbound lanes and hit both the Mustang and the truck. Impairment is not believed to be a factor.
The owner of the Jeep, a 33-year-old woman, claimed injuries and was taken to the hospital. The driver of the Nissan, a 21-year-old woman, and a passenger suffered serious injuries and were taken to UMC Trauma.
According to the police, the 21-year-old woman died on March 2. Her death was the 20th traffic-related accident in 2020 for Metro Police.
