On Monday night in Las Vegas, a pedestrian was taken to a hospital in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.
Las Vegas police said that at around 10:00 pm, a light-colored SUV traveling eastbound on Cobblestone Ave near Rainbow Rd and Alta Dr was seen striking a pedestrian, who police also said was in the roadway and outside of a marked crosswalk.
Without stopping, the driver of the SUV then sped off. The pedestrian was taken to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Police are still looking for the SUV, which they say has sustained substantial damage to the left front of the vehicle. Anyone with information regarding this crime is being asked to contact Las Vegas police.
