Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that took place on the evening of June 16th on Interstate 11 near the Hoover Dam.

According to police, a dump truck hauling asphalt was traveling southbound on I-11 when the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with a roundabout.

Witnesses report seeing the truck moving at a “high rate of speed” however, it still remains unclear how the driver lost control of the large vehicle.

The truck then traveled roughly 300 feet down to an embankment where it burst into flames. Crews immediately worked to control the blaze that evening.

No other information was made available however the driver of the truck did not survive the incident.
