Elderly Pedestrian Critically Injured Near Rainbow and Robindale
A 73-year-old man was hit by a car while walking on the sidewalk in the southwest valley on the morning of November 6th.
Police got a call about a collision on South Rainbow and West Robindale around 8:50 a.m. According to evidence from the scene and witness statements, a pedestrian was walking north on the sidewalk of Rainbow Boulevard and was then struck by a Chrysler Sebring while crossing the 7800 S Rainbow Boulevard private drive.
The 73-year-old pedestrian hit the windshield and fell onto the private drive. He was rushed to University Medical Center and remains there in critical condition.
According to authorities, the driver of the Chrysler was travelling south on Rainbow Boulevard and had made a left-turn to enter the private drive.
The driver of the Sebring stayed at the scene and did not show any signs of impairment.
