Two Dead in Rear-End Crash on I-15

The northbound lanes of Interstate 15 were closed on the morning of August 30th due to a crash that killed two people near Jean. Ashlee Wellman, a spokeswoman of Nevada Highway Patrol, later reported that around 7 a.m. a Honda traveling northbound on I-15 slammed into the rear of an 18-wheeler about 30 miles outside of Las Vegas. “For unknown reasons the (driver of the) Honda failed to decrease its speed,” Wellman said. After the crash, the Honda came to rest on the dirt shoulder of the road. The female driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene. The female passenger of the Honda was taken to Las Vegas University Medical Center where she later passed away. The driver of the 18-wheeler semi-truck did not suffer any injuries. The northbound lanes remained closed until just before noon. “Car accidents are on the rise in the Las Vegas area. At Edward M Bernstein and Associates, we take these accidents seriously.
