Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that led to the death of two people on January 25th. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on I-80 just west of Winnemucca.
According to officials, two people traveling westbound on I-80 in a Chevrolet Bolt that rear ended a Nevada Department of Transportation snowplow, which led to their tragic death.
The victims of the crash were identified as 79-year-old Walter Williams of Idaho Falls, and 74-year-old Sherrill Mcleod of Pebble Beach, California.
The crash is being investigated by the Multi-Disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team (MIRT). Anyone who was a witness to the crash can contact Sergeant Peterson at the NHP Winnemucca Substation at (775) 623-6511.
