Summerlin fatal accident lawsuit: Scott Gragson settles with passenger Scott Gragson, a real estate agent in Las Vegas who is serving a prison sentence for driving drunk and causing a deadly 2019 collision in Summerlin, has reached an agreement with a victim of the accident. During a court hearing on Friday, the confidential agreement was announced, according to Randall Jones, who represented Christopher Bentley. Bentley, a passenger in Gragson's car, suffered a traumatic brain injury in the May 2019 accident at The Ridges in Summerlin. Gragson had already agreed to a compensation plan with the family of Melissa Newton, who was killed in the accident. Gragson was required to pay her family $21 million as part of the agreement. Gragson has also reached settlements with passengers Greg Tassi and Christie Cobbett. Gragson pleaded guilty to one count of DUI causing death and one count of DUI causing serious bodily injury, and was sentenced to eight to 20 years in prison in September 2020. According to the Nevada Department of Corrections' website, he is incarcerated at Stewart Conservation Camp, a low-security work camp south of Carson City. Gragson's legal representative, James Pisanelli, did not respond to a request for comment on Wednesday. “Car accidents are on the rise in the Las Vegas area.
